AI Engine: UK University Hackathon
Two things are true:
There’s never been a better time to be an engineer. AI tools and infra have become so powerful that anyone can be a 10x engineer and start a company.
The UK has the highest concentration of top universities in the world, and graduates some of the most brilliant minds.
With that in mind — I am so excited to announce the inaugural AI Engine: UK University Hackathon!!!
At Chapter One, we’re teaming up with the AI and Entrepreneurial societies from top UK universities — Cambridge, Imperial, Oxford, and UCL — and partnering with leading venture funds Bessemer, Dawn Capital, and Seedcamp to organize a two-day hackathon. This includes online workshops on Friday, February 14th, and an in-person hacking event on Saturday, February 15th.
We’re thrilled to be working with amazing industry sponsors, including Google, Anthropic, ElevenLabs, Vercel, Canva, and Ragie (and more to come!), who are providing invaluable resources, mentorship, and exciting prizes.
The event will take place at UCL East in collaboration with the UCL Centre for Artificial Intelligence (the birthplace of DeepMind 🔥)

Final thing -
Just wanted to shout out a massive thank you to everyone who has been involved in organizing and all the industry partners. It’s been a full team effort to get this up and running — I’m so pumped for the day!!
I’m an investor at Chapter One, an early-stage venture fund that invests $500K - $2M checks into pre-seed and seed-stage startups.
